Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one. We try to have a few prompts each round that are not HP-specific.
As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going. Please do not discuss your fic/art. You can discuss ideas, drinks, how wasted you are, your favorite actors or musicians, the state of the world (a nice, safe topic LOL), or whatever floats your boat. Just don't discuss your fic/art. This is an anonymous fest until after the reveal, and we don't want hints being given as to what you're writing about. :)
And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but though we're getting more diversity, we're still fairly HP-focused. Anything goes!
Once you are semi-conscious, send your UNBETA'D UNCORRECTED fic to this email: fwfdrunkmods@gmail.com Trust me, we can tell if you've messed with it, so don't do it, okay?
You will receive an email from us confirming that we got it. If you don't get an email, we didn't get it. Your fics/art will be due by midnight on Sunday, January 22nd. Voting will begin on January 23rd and last until Friday, January 27th.

Date: 2023-01-21 06:27 am (UTC)I'm honestly kind of fond of those deliberately bad tattoes, like when people get a tattoo of a crayon drawing their kid made. But then I also like the super expensive ones by sought-after tattoo artists that just look magical. Yet I don't think those styles mix well.

But, yes, sought-after-artist is the way to go. There's a huge difference between "deliberately bad for the kitch factor" and actually mediocre and I don't understand why people get mediocre tattoos. Mind you, I'm cheap and drunk and make bad decisions and if someone offered me a cheap tattoo at this very moment, I'd rpobably be like, "Ink me up! I want a happy frog that looks like it was drawn by a six-year-old! Or a convincingly realistic trompe l'oeil patch style frog. Can you do that cheap? The bad crayon drawing is cheaper? Cool. Let's rock!"

Except for the color choice, which has ketchup-and-mustard connotations that make it look a bit like a weird hot dog, but I still 100% support kids who make valid phonetic mispellings because, yes, "budrflai" is a totally valid way to write those sounds.

Google "patch tattoos" and that's my favorite tattoo this week but just a month ago, I thought the coolest thing ever were those tattoos that made it look like you were an android with mechanical gears in your arms. I cannot be trusted to make permanent decisions.

Date: 2023-01-21 12:32 pm (UTC)TBH I always figured, if I got anything, it would be shippy but like only I would know the significance--well, besides other people who were in my corner of fandom. So I mean something that came from a fic rather than just general HP fandom. I used to have a few examples but it would be more like getting a tattoo that so and so had in a fic or something that was significant in a story.
There's an old, classic fic that in this pivotal scene, one character has words written on them by the other and there's a Latin phrase in it, Ephemeris corpus. I've often thought of using that. But there may be better options. Hence my indecision. LOL Well, and explaining to people what it means.
