Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one. We try to have a few prompts each round that are not HP-specific.

As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going. Please do not discuss your fic/art. You can discuss ideas, drinks, how wasted you are, your favorite actors or musicians, the state of the world (a nice, safe topic LOL), or whatever floats your boat. Just don't discuss your fic/art. This is an anonymous fest until after the reveal, and we don't want hints being given as to what you're writing about. :)

And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but though we're getting more diversity, we're still fairly HP-focused. Anything goes!

I have to confess I'm not ready at all – although Friday's almost over here! I mean I'm not ready to even start. I have no booze! I was too tired at the end of the working week and decided to go and buy some (other necessities, too) only tomorrow morning. But thanks to the time zones perhaps I can still get my drunk on before you all have passed out!

It's only 4:40pm here and I'm having a calming cuppa having done battle with the post office - I lost of course. *sings* A tale as old as time...

Of course, I went from there to the supermarket and when I got home at 4:08pm there was a message saying they'd taken another look and found my parcel if I could make it back before 4:00pm. I've never been one to easily loose my temper but... GAH!

someone told me that there is an italian (?) traidition of throwing away (smashing?) brocken/chsipped dishes for new year [(starting the new yaear fresh) and my sister says this weekend is the lunar new year so I thnk I'm gonna use that as a good reason to throw away my favorite chipped plate. Has a HUGE chicp in the side that I don't know how it happened and it's annoying and despite the palte being pretty, I thiknk it's time to let it go.

Okay so ... one hour and two ro three shots into thhis and I haven't wrtten a word so despite 30 unread messages, I'm gonna ignore y'all for a bit and go and actually write something.

Just checking in to wish you all good luck with your writing tonight! Sadly I can't even have a drink in sympathy, because my body decided to tell me that I'm not over my illness (a cold which turned into sinusitis) by giving me a round of migraine with aura (is it called that in English? I'm not up for looking it up right now) earlier this evening.
So I'm off to bed.

So, I had half a day of work, half a day of childcare support, and am now home and… I need to do some shopping. So I am ordering/eating sushi, then going out to get the ingredients for. Y potluck dish tomorrow, and some ouzo because the potluck dish is tabouli, and I want Mediterranean alcohol (yes, I know it’s not the same cuisine, but yummy!).

(Also maybe sushi with an ouzo chaser will be good?)

Anyway, drinking later. But I am stoked to be with you all tonight.

So here's my update from when I said I'd be back with deets. I got my first-ever cocktail shaker set (shaker with strainer-lid, muddler, mixing tools, and two-sided jigger) last week with the plan that I would make cocktails during this FWF. I also got four cocktail books. I also bought a bottle of whisky, a bottle of triple sec, a bottle of rum, and a bottle of grapefruit vodka (I already had a bottle of plain vodka), and a bottle of bourbon-barrel-aged maple syrup. About an hour before FWF started I decided to check out the taste of the whisky, having gotten a mid-price Islay Single Malt Scotch (no way was I gonna use my 15-year-old Glenfiddich for mixed drinks!) Well, "the whisky I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had another for dessert"...and another...and another. Now I'm torn between "should I start writing fic before I do anything else" or "should I make my first cocktail of the night before I do anything else" or "should I read through and comment on the gazillion comments here that I haven't read yet before I do anything else"? ????????????
