Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one. We try to have a few prompts each round that are not HP-specific.
As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going. Please do not discuss your fic/art. You can discuss ideas, drinks, how wasted you are, your favorite actors or musicians, the state of the world (a nice, safe topic LOL), or whatever floats your boat. Just don't discuss your fic/art. This is an anonymous fest until after the reveal, and we don't want hints being given as to what you're writing about. :)
And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but though we're getting more diversity, we're still fairly HP-focused. Anything goes!

So I challenge people to give me a two-digit number times 11 and I can get the answer (even drunk) faster than they can type it to verify into their phone and they are then super impressed.
But the trick is actually really easy 27 * 11 = ... 2 + 7 = 9 so you stick a 9 in between the 2 and the 7 and the answer is 297.
45 * 11 = 495 (notice that 4 + 5 = 9)
The "hard" ones are when there is a carry. 48 * 11 = 512 (4 + 8 = 12 so there is a carry and the hundred's place is one more than 4)
If you do math tricks while drunk without explaining there is a trick, it blows people away. (I'm literally paid to outsmart 5th graders. This is my job. Squaring two-digit numbers that end in five is another of my go-to tricks that confuse people.)

Date: 2023-01-21 06:27 am (UTC)I'm honestly kind of fond of those deliberately bad tattoes, like when people get a tattoo of a crayon drawing their kid made. But then I also like the super expensive ones by sought-after tattoo artists that just look magical. Yet I don't think those styles mix well.

I first saw this movie back in the day when I had a Netflix subscription and was getting physical CDs in the mail. Remmber how you'd have a queue of discs and they'd show up and sometimes you were like "Yay! I've been looking forward to this!" but occasionally it woudl be "I don't even remember adding this to my queue. Who recommended this to me?"
I have NO IDEA how American Astronaut ended up in my Netflix queue and I spent the first half of the movie just going, "What in the actual fuck?" (Fun fact: same thing happened with Slings & Arrows. None of my friends would admit to being the person who recommended it to me and all claimed to have never heard of it before I was all "Who recommened this amazing show to me?! Thank you!")

Google "patch tattoos" and that's my favorite tattoo this week but just a month ago, I thought the coolest thing ever were those tattoos that made it look like you were an android with mechanical gears in your arms. I cannot be trusted to make permanent decisions.
