Ok I've always wanted to join in on one of these, and I'm a very late riser (5 pm est today omg) but as soon as I eat dinner aka lunch I'm so going to join with a cocktail. As an out of work bartender I feel it is my duty! Can't wait to read all your fics!

Yaaaay! SO I think i'm gonna start with just a Pernod and then do a blue mezcal margarita with salt and pepper rim (which was my Ravenclaw drink in the HP cocktail series I did at my old bar). Your spicy tequila drink sounds soooo good!

St. germain is elderflower liqueur, and lillet blanc is a fortified wine-based apertif! I was working a fancier cocktail bar at the time, when pandemic hit I was at a divier place.

hahaha, it's only lazy because I didn't want to shake anything lol. I may end up skipping the fancier stuff. my home bar is really well stocked tho becasue I was doing instagram cocktail tutorials for venmo money when I first got laid off.

I am a Gryffindor and I love your description of the drink as having "a lot going on." I loathe Campari, but the Hufflepuff cocktail sounds right up my alley, especially the no ice part. I am drinking my margaritas at room temperature.

have you ever done drinks for individual characters in HP? Now I'm thinking about that more than my fic!

Oh, man. Can of worms time. Okay. Well.

I"ll start with Remus Lupin since he's one of the two characters I feel I know best. He's a closed book initially but it's clear he's got a LOT of depth, and once you get midway in you realize you're probably in over your head. And the drink has to be something that looks a bit stodgy but actually gives you the screaming Mimis...

the Remus Lupin: overproof scotch (werewolves have extremely high tolerance), drambuie (which is made by the McKinnons!!!) honey, bergamot shrub (because we can; also the Forest). no ice.

okay now I'm on a roll! The Draco Malfoy: Gin, tonic water, cucumber spear, jalapeño, lime, served in a highball glass over ice. Looks cool and elegant but will burn your tongue off. Easy to drink too much of.

I went to a Harry Potter bar in Toronto and it was AMAZING! All I rreally remember is that there was at least one drink that came ON FIRE! ♥ ♥

Yeah, I seem to remember there were a lot of precautions in place, but just randomly setting things on fire without them would probably be frowned upon. :D

One of my favorite fannish memories is attending a sci-fi party that involved several drinks that came smoking with... liquid nitrogen? I don't remember, but you had to drink them through special metal straws that had filters in them to make sure you didn't accidentally ingest anything dangerous. Which was a little too adventurous for me. I didn't order anything that smoked.
