Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one.

As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going.

And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but keep in mind the majority of our players are HP people. Anything goes!

Like all the best hostesses, we'll both be ducking in and out all evening. /o\ Torino is getting us started before rushing off (returning later with rum) and Shelly will be along in a bit with her usual bottle of Jack. Heyyyyy! I'm not drinking yet (will probably start in a couple hours, which is 6pm for me), but I bought a nice bottle of pinot noir specifically for this. There are snow flurries and it's very, very cold, so I'm just going to get under a blanket here in my writing chair when the time comes and write the words. \o/ And probably get up and dance here and there, because that's what I do with a couple, three, four glasses of wine in me. ;P

Yeah, we're supposed to get down to a high of 5 degrees in a couple days with 15" of snow and wind chills in the -30 range. But ice is probably the absolute worst and scariest. I hope you don't have to drive! <3

my brain is slightly confused by the jalapeño. I don't even know if that sounds good or not, but I want to try it to see.

It's good, it goes with the tequila and the lime. Gives it a bit of a kick. I was trying to invent one of those high end cocktails that has ingredients where you don't even know what they are, like "basil shrub"

Jalapeño poppers are the best. The first time I ever had them was at a restaurant that listed them on the appetize r menu as "iguana eggs" and I was very firmly in the "nope" column, but my friend was like, "I've had them before and they're awesome! We have to ge t them!" and I am so grateful. I can't believe I almost passed up the experience just because my inner-picky-eater didn't like the name on the menu.

Iguana eggs?! That would totally put me off too. I've never really had restaurant-quality Jalapeno poppers, but more like the frozen variety from TGIFriday's or something like that. *sheepish*

Yeah, I can't remember what the rest of the menu looked like, but it was one of those places where everything had a cutesy name (so you had to read the descriptions carefully to figure out what anything was). It was a very kitschy place. I could be remembering wrong, but it seems like this was when places like TGIFriday and Applebees and Chilis were just becoming a thing and gimmicky menus and random "antiques" nailed to the walls were the new craze. Anyway, before any of those arrived in town it was just this place which became so popular we ended up not going any more because the parking lot was always full.
