Luna Lovegood was walking around the Back Lake, listening hard. She thought she had heard unpleasant laughtter comng ffom nearby. She was sure that it was aimer at her. She peered aroind a bush. DracoMalfyu was pisssing into a the lake and sowere rrab cnd Gpyle. “I got firher! Piss on Earth Day! Unless you do it the syltheun way!”

“Whch way is hrtat? Asheed Lina who had come around the bush and Draco stared at her mispronnciation and her Rsddish aerrings. Well I'm better at pissing, drac informed her , but save the plntet by Caping. I do sponsored caping. In a tent. Artyr Weasley has sbseen me at it!”

“How does camping sve the world.?”

“It;s sponsored, and Fther has excelent contacts wth hte Minisrey. Plus Hemakes the moooost geenerouuus donTIONS.?” draco smilrked Lunasbrain was at te bottom of the ake and the lake reflected the sxky and her blue eyes as she though t Draoc had the planet b y the aballs. She blew mi a ciss. And went away.

This line throws me into hysterics every time I reread it. This fic is soooo funny and yet I am also reading it as a spot-on metaphor for our completely LOSER response to climate disaster. Seriously. Because IRL when someone says, "hey, we gotta save the earth" the people with money and power just keep on pissing in the lake and repeating: "I do sponsored caping" over and over like entitled idiots until we're all fried to a crisp.
