Hey, everyone! How are you doing out there? Did everyone survive intact? We hope no one suffered any morning after ill-effects. :)

If you turned in your piece, by now you should have gotten confirmation from either sdk or myself (or possibly both of us!). If you've emailed it in but didn't hear back, we haven't got it. Please send it in again! Our email is fwfdrunkmods@gmail.com.

You have until midnight EST Sunday to turn in your piece if you haven't already. Remember, no editing allowed! If you passed out before you finished a header, that's acceptable to add to, but no correcting or messing with the fics and/or art itself.

We'll be posting all pieces anonymously on Monday all in one go and then voting will commence! A post on voting will go up then as well, with all the details.

We are so excited to share all of the drunken masterpieces!! :D

Took a break from FWF last night to watch the movie "Cocktail" (deliberately FWF-apropos!) with spouse so we could have some bit of time together on Friday. Went back to drinking and writing until 4:30 AM. Woke up just now at 8:40 AM. Going to see if I can fall back asleep right now for a few more hours. Whenever I'm awake for the day I'll check back in here (and respond to the last few comments to me from yesterday too). Not hung over, just plain sleepy.

I hit snooze several times but still made it to my desk to host a Zoom meeting at 10:30...and am the only one here. (It was Quaker Meeting for Worship for young adults and usually lightly attended when I remember to advertise a lot, which I didn't.) Anyway, I have a potluck at 3, but once I can leave this call (at noon-ish--need to stay on in case Friends want to pop in for the "check-in" portion of the morning) may be taking a nap. Because I was up writing/drinking/sobering past 4am.

I did accomplish fic, though, and I think there may have been some good elemeents to it?

4 PM check-in

Well, I've been drinking for long enough now that I'm ready to start drunk!writing again. I do intend to make cocktails tonight eventually with my new cocktail shaker set and the ice cubes I finally made...but so far with the local temp in the low 30s Fahrenheit I haven't felt like having a cold drink so I've been drinking alcohol-laced coffee all afternoon. (And to keep me very awake while drunk I'm using this pistachio-flavored high-caff coffee "Wake the Hell Up" brand.)

I asked this very late last night -- it may have been after a lot of participants had "left" for the night -- so I'm asking again. Anybody know about buttermilk cocktails? I have some buttermilk left over from recently making "Pan de Elote" and I'm considering making buttermilk cocktails with that.

I really have no advice about the buttermilk. Since so many drinks I like are fruity and/or citrusy, the idea of milk just doesn't sound awesome. LOL But I too like coffee laced with booze so I know that's more my brain objecting than anything.

You should just try it and let us know how it comes out. Worst thing that might happen is that it's not awesome. But who knows? It might be AMAZING.

I just made yet another one of these Buttermilk Vodka cocktails. OMFG these things are damn addictive. What I am doing is actually not the original recipe -- it's my own personal riff on the recipe. I will deffo be doing this again for the next FWF and asking participants to do "name this drink" (not doing it now because it looks like a lot of the participants are not tracking current comments).
