It was diffifu lct to hide anything from a roomful of detectives, particularly good detectvices, rare enough in the Hong Kong police department.
Bai Chi, Zhaofu and Wang Shao were the genisues who noticed Bai Sir's outfits were now all black the first five days Zhan Yao was back in the department having been released from the hsopstial after an overnight stay courtesy of Zhao Jue if that could ever be called a courtesy.
It took Ma Han and Jiang Ling to notic Zhan Yao flinching every time Bai Yu Tong touched him, when he managed it atall, Zhan Yao mostly managing to always be slightly out of his reach. Jiang LIng described it as being like a ballet, Ma han as fucking rididculous.
But Ma Han and JiangLing didn't have access to the lockers and it was Bai Chi who noticed they no longer showered alongside each other or took a sauna together, he just didn't think he should say anything baout it, they'd probabbly just had another fight.
Zhao Fu noticed Bai Sir wasn't moving fluidly like he usually did, an athelete down to his fingertips, his movements stiff and jerky like he'd been beaten badly and left in an ally which he'd seen before but there wasn't a mark on him.
Gon Sunzhe was the one who'd pointed out to the brilliant team of detectives that Bai Yu Tong and Zhan Yao weren't even fighting anymore. They talked, they bickered, they fought but they never just went their separate ways, not without being certain the other one was noticing.
But what did Gong Sunzhe know? He might be a genius coroner but he wasn't a detective.
Zhan Yao mentionede in a meeting he was considering going back to the US to furthere his studies. Bai Sir nodded and went on with the meeting at which they all knewe something was very wrong.
Of one acccord, they went to get food but manly drinks. It was up to them to save their unit if no one elese wasn going to do it.
"Soemthing must have happened in that warehouse." Wang Shao nodded sagely until Ma Han wacked him across the back of his head pushing his hat over his eyes.
"Genisues, you're all fucking geniusses." She downed her drink, took Jiang Ling's which she'd been nursin g for the last 20 minutes and downed that too. "of course it was the warehouse. Bai Sir wouldn't even let us check that scene, just told us to meet him at the hospital they took Zhan Yao too and then sent us out to look for Zhao Jue."
Zhao Fu downed his drink, poured another drowned that too and nodded. "Funny, he was wearing Zhan Yao's raincoat and it doesn't even fitt him properly."
Ma Han glared at him. Everytime she glared at him... soemthing about those thigh high boots. What was hethinking. "WEird, that's all. And then all the dark clothign after that. Has anyone else ever seen Bai Sir where anything but white?"
Those of them still sober enough shook their heads. Bai Chi slid sideways into Ma Han who decided to let it go for once. It helped to know Bai Chi wasn't even interested in women, let alone her and wasn't tryoingo to cop a feel. Cop a feel. She laughed . Obviously even she had alsmot had too muc h to drink.
"I don't want to leave SCI." Jiang Ling whined. "So what we agoing to do?"
Bai Chi was the genius who came up with the elevator stranding. It took more effort than it should have to gdet them in the esame elevator, mainly ahcieved by Bai Chi, Ma Haan and Wang Shao gett6ing on with them and then jumping off right before the doors closed. It was Jiang Ling that triggered the escaped prisoner alarms and got them stuck in the elevator between floors. Whatever their issues where, they were going to have to talk about them or so they hoped.
***
Zhan Yao pushed the elevator alarm bell again. And again. And again.
Bai Yutong had sat down in the corner and had his head in hishands. "The building's in lock down. It'lll be at least 30 minutes before they get us out off here maybe longer."
Zhan Yao sunk to the floor in the opposite corner as far from Bai Yutong as he oculd get. "Duid you plan this?"
"Whywould I plan this?"
Zhan Yao wasn't going to say anything. "Maybe the warehouse wasn't enough?"
"Waht?" Yutong looked at him like he'd lost his mind. "You think I want more of that?"
He couldn't make sense of it. He was the one who'd ended up in the hospital with a blow to the back of the head and no recollection of what had happened. Why was Ytong the one who looked soinjured.
"I don't rememember what happened there and you won't tell me."
He'd known Yutong since they were kidsand this was the first time he wouldn't mjeet his eyes.
"It's better if you don't remember."
"Better for you?" It must have been Yutongwho'd hit him. He couldn't remember anyone else being there. He stood up.
"Better for everyone if you don't even want to be my friend anymore."
Nothing anbotu this made sense. "Bai Yutong. Was anyone else there?"
"Zhao Jue. He knoccked us both out."
"Then why didn't you need treatment at the hospital?"
"It doesn't matter now. Just go back to the States and we canforget all about it."
"Tell. Me. What, Happened." Or should I ask ZhaoJue. I'm pretty sure dad would tell me if I asked him."
"So you think he's your dad tooo—"
"Yutong. Tell me what happened. It can't be worse than I'm imagininng happened."
Agiaan Yutong would meet his eyes. "He knocked you unconsscious and beat me but I'm toot strpo0ng to need the hospital."
He was concerned his eyes would roll out of his head.
"He tied me down, hypnotissed you and when heleft I got us to the hospital. "
Tied down.. He'd tied down Yutong. The memories flooded back, driving him to his knees. Yutong had been stripped naked and tied face down over a desk, his toes barely touching the floor.
He'd stripped all his clothes off, his cock harder than he ever remembered it being and stood between Yutong's spread legs. Yutong was trying to say something around the gag in his mouth but it w3as muffled and he didn't care anyway. All he could thinkg baout was possessing Ytong the way he'd always dreamed of doing and here he was, presented for his pleasure. Yutong knew what he wanted and had obviously offereed himself.
He gagged, almost throwing up on the elevator floorr. His conscious self knew Yutong hadn't offered himself like that, Zhao Jue had arranged it, god knows why. Had he wanted to destroy their friendship? Had he thought this was what Yao really wanted? Fuck Zhao Jue.
That wasn't the problem. The problem was he'd spit in his hand several times, stroked his cock and breached Yutong's arsehole with no consideration for his wants at all. It had hurt, he was sore and Yutong was dry but he'd driven him up onto his toes, again and again. Thankfully, it hadn't taken much for him to come and pull himself free. He clearly remembered the blood on his cock, the blood on Yutong... and hten someone had struck him from behind.
He threw up on the elevator floor, heaving until his stomach was empty and then huddling into the corner, wrapping his arms around his knees and burying his head in them.
" Zhan Yao, are you all right?"
Even now, Yuutong was worried about him and he didn't think he'd ever stop despissing himself. He'd counseled rape victims, didn't understand how anyone could do that and he had, he had done that to someone he lkvoed that he'd hoped might learn to lvoe him given time.
Shit! Why had Ytong been wearing dark clothes fore that long? ".....Did you get medical attention?"
"....It waszxn't anything anyone else need ed to know. I got some antibiotices off Gong Sunzhe and I thought if I didn't need stiches it was nobody's business but—"
"Why were you wearning black? You never wear black."
".... I wanted a change."
"YOu're a terrible liar. YOu were bleeding weren't you? You knew your usual white clothing couldn't hide it. I did so much damage to you and then treated you like a you were the one—" He couldn't even finish saying it. Couldnent bear to finish saying it. He'd raped the person he loved and had never even told him how he felt and now would never be able to tell him. He scrambled ot his feet.
"As soon as we get out of here I'm taing you to the hsoptial to get stitches and—"
"No." Yutong gestured to his all white outfit."It stopped a couple of days ago, healed up on its own."
"I treated you like you'd done something terrible.... and all the tim e I was a rapist."
Yutong scrambled to his feet and pulled Zhan yao into his arms. He fought but it was useless against Yutong's strength. "Not you. Neever you. This is all on Zhao Jue. If you weren't under his influence you would have never done it."
"But I wanted it, wanted you. I've always wanted you." Zhan Yao wasn't going to hide behind lies.
Yutong held him even tighter. "But not his way, never this way."
Zhan Yao had nothing left to lose. "I love you. Not as a friend." He struggled against Yutong's arms but he held him fast.
"I love you as a friend—"
Zhan yaoi continued to struggle
"And as so much more. I've been in love iwth you since I was old enough to knwo what love was."
Yutong's grip impossibly tightend even more and he groaned as he felt Yutong's erection digging into his thigh. "I was stupid enoguh to think it was better that you did'nt remember but I love you and your fucking father isn't going to ruin this for us."
He tried to kiss him but Yutong evaded it. "We're going to take the time we need to get paste this. I need you to think what you really want without guilt. If you reall love me then we're going to get rid of my apartment we don't really use and try this again, conscious with lots of lube and lots of love. You fucked me but you never kissed me. I'd never dared dream past you kissing me."
When the SCI team forced the doores open they werestill kissing and they didn't stop.

In the sentence "It was diffifu lct to hide anything from a roomful of detectives, particularly good detectvices, rare enough in the Hong Kong police department.... I read the phrase "particularly good detectives" as somewhat wry, although I don't know if it was actually meant that way.
