Firewhiskeyfic is SATURDAY, JULY 2nd! (So don't start drinking yet! Though we'll understand if you do. Especially if you're in the US.)

The festivities will begin at 5PM BST/12PM EDT/9AM PDT on Saturday, July 2! Hopefully, the time works for you but remember that you can come and go as you please, start early, leave late. It's all good as long as while you are writing, you're drinking. :D

We are hosting on our DW community again this round. If you do not have a DW account (yet *g*), you should be able to comment with OpenID or anonymously.

A rundown of the rules. A more thorough explanation will be posted on the night of the event.


1. This round will take place on Saturday, July 2nd, 5PM BST/12PM EDT/9AM PDT (and last until you finish or pass out). Due to sucky time zones mucking everything up, if you'd like to start earlier or later, that's fine! This is MUCH earlier than our usual event.

2. Your fic and/or art will be due approximately 48 hours from the challenge start time. For this round, that means Monday, July 4th by midnight your time. (We would prefer to turn them in the same night or the next morning, but we understand drunk/hangover emailing might be a tad too challenging.)

Please note: The extra time provided may not be used for editing or adding on or fixing typos, etc. (If you were too drunk to add a header, please add one when sober. ;)) Also note: NO BETAS ALLOWED. We recommend you don't even look at or reread your submission before turning it in. (You can be surprised right along with the rest of us!)

3. Submissions will be posted anonymously on July 5th and voting will be open for various categories through Saturday, July 9th. Please vote! (But not for yourself! :P)

4. All fandoms are welcome! We're traditionally very HP-focused here, but if you get inspired to go Marvel or Supernatural or Doctor Who, etc., etc. (or a crossover!) that's totally fine.

5. And finally, you must be of legal drinking age in your country in order to participate.

I've made Skittles shots and stocked up on summery pre-mixed drinks when I saw them in my local supermarket. Am wondering if I should splurge on a Kahlua for White Russians. And I've bought Tour de France-themed straws with little leaders' jerseys on them ♥
Now all I can do is hope I'll be feeling a bit better than now (after 2½ years it was finally my turn to catch covid-19 recently -_-)

Oh! And the Tour!! Since I was away for a week I somehow hadn't realised it was already time!! It's kinda hard to explain now but on Saturday remind me to tell you about the "decorative" cyclists I have. LOL

I hope so too! Because I'd really hate for those to go to waste - and yes, I partly made them so I can have a "yellow jersey"-shot or a "green jersey"-shot. ;)

There was the team presentation tonight. If you can catch some glimpses of that, you should do so...I've never seen a team presentation that was that much a cross between a giant garden party and a rock concert, haha. All the riders seemed overwhelmed, in a good way.
And sure, I'll remember to ask about them on Saturday. :)
