The festivities will begin at 10PM BST/5PM EDT/2PM PDT on Saturday, July 25th! Hopefully, the time works for you but remember that you can come and go as you please, start early, leave late. It's all good as long as while you are writing, you're drinking. :D

We are hosting on our DW community again this round. If you do not have a DW account (yet *g*), you should be able to comment with OpenID or anonymously.

A run down of the rules. A more thorough explanation will be posted on the night of the event.


1. This round will take place on Saturday July 25th, 10PM BST/5PM EDT/2PM PDT (and last until you finish or pass out). Due to sucky time zones mucking everything up, if you'd like to start earlier or later, that's fine!

2. Your fic and/or art will be due approximately 48 hours from the challenge start time. For this round, that means Monday, July 27 by midnight your time. (We would prefer to turn them in the same night or the next morning, but we understand drunk/hangover emailing might be a tad too challenging.)

Please note: The extra time provided may not be used for editing or adding on or fixing typos, etc. (If you were too drunk to add a header, please add one when sober. ;)) Also note: NO BETAS ALLOWED. We recommend you don't even look at or reread your submission before turning it in. (You can be surprised right along with the rest of us!)

3. Submissions will be posted anonymously on July 28 and voting will be open for various categories through Saturday, August 1st. Please vote! (But not for yourself! :P)

4. All fandoms are welcome! We're traditionally very HP focused here, but if you get inspired to go Marvel or Supernatural or Doctor Who, etc., etc. (or a crossover!) that's totally fine.

5. And finally, you must be at least the legal drinking age in your country in order to participate.

Great you're interested! No sign-up needed, and it's enough if your work's related to one of the prompts or to the theme, but you can use any number or all of the prompts as well. Hope to see you around drunk!

No, none at all. It's nice to have a plan of what you want to write but we've had people fall asleep before they finish and send that in. LOL If you're curious, take a look at a previous round and you can get the idea what goes on.

Hey, welcome! :D It is really, really fun! They also have voting after all the entries have posted anonymously, and there is a banner for 'Best Use of Prompts', so if you're gunning for that, you can attempt to use all the prompts. But seriously anything goes with this!

Honestly, you don't need to be truly drunk. Tipsy works. Though if you want to be drunk, by all means, LOL go for it!

I did remember a rule that is important and may have gone unnoticed. But there's no editing before you submit your entry. We want to see the typos and incoherence in all their glory. Some people do struggle with this, always wanting their writing to be clean but you can tidy it later, after reveals. LOL

I did see that rule and that's why I went ahead and got the rum, because I'm definitely going to struggle with that. Even drunk me will waste time trying to fix a typo seven times. (My drunk texts are surprisingly coherent... it just takes me forever to write them.) So I'm going to play by an old college teacher's "free-writing" rules: write, keep writing, dont fuss over punctuation or grammar, no editing allowed.

I think this is exactly the break from overthinking that I need. (Been struggling trying to get back into writing-mode lately.)

Welcome! I see Paula answered most of your questions. I'll only add sometimes, because of timezones, some people arrive already a bit tipsy and others come and chat and then get started. The only real "rule" is that you write while intoxicated. Personally, I usually start after a couple of drinks but that's up to you.
