some softness.
Zhao Yunlan dropped Guo Changcheng and Chu Shuzhi off at the latter's
apartment. Guo Changcheng didn't just want to go home after well ... not
accidentally proposing, but kinda springing it on everyone, including,
to be honest, himself. To say nothing of Chu-ge.
Fortunately, Chu Shuhzi didn't seem to mind that Guo Changcheng invited
himself over.
"I guess we're engaged now" said Guo Changcheng hesitantly as they
walked up the stairs to Chu Shuzhi's floor.
Chu Shuzhi got his keys out one=handed as they neared his apartment, his
other hand still entangled with Guo Changcheng's. "Only if you want to
be," he said casually, not looking up as he unlocked the door.
Guo Changcheng stood still for a moment. Chu Shuzhi looked up to see why
Guo Changcheng wasn't moving, and saw that he was frozen in shock. He
reached out gently to pet Guo Changcheng's cheek. "You do want to be,
right?" he asked, this time with a smile. Well, one side of his mouth
squirked up just a tiny bit, which counted as a wide grin for him.
Guo Changcheng breathed again. "Yes,but ... I don't wanna force you if
you ... feel differently," he said, and Chu Shuzhi could hear the
sadness in his voice. He didn't ever want to be the cause of that kind
of sadness for Guo Changcheng, ever. Ever.
There was only one response. Still with the fingers of one hand entwined
with Guo Changcheng's, because this would be easier if Chu Shuzhi let
go, but he couldn't bear to see how GUo changcheng might react, Chu
Shuzhi wrapped his other arm around Guo Changcheng and gathered him
tightly to himself, petting the back of Guo Changcheng's neck. He
finally stepped back a little and let go of Guo Changcheng's hand,
immediately using his newly freed hand to chuck Guo Changcheng under the
chin. "Dumbass," said Chu Shuzhi, and leaned in for a peck on the lips.
Guo Changcheng lit up like fireworks at Reunion Festival. "Really,
Chu-ge?" he said.
"Of course," said Chu Shuzhi. "Don't you know?" Guo Changcheng stared at
him, his eyes huge and unblinking, and finally Chu Shuzhi continued. "I
don't ever want to have to let you go, Changcheng."
This time it was Guo Changcheng who puleld CHu Shuzhi into his arms, and
leaned in for much more than a peck on the lips.
