Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one. We try to have a few prompts each round that are not HP-specific.

As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going. Please do not discuss your fic/art. You can discuss ideas, drinks, how wasted you are, your favorite actors or musicians, the state of the world (a nice, safe topic LOL), or whatever floats your boat. Just don't discuss your fic/art. This is an anonymous fest until after the reveal, and we don't want hints being given as to what you're writing about. :)

And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but though we're getting more diversity, we're still fairly HP-focused. Anything goes!

I can't start drinking just yet as I have to drive in a couple of hours but I plan to try out this Fireball Cider Cocktail because I happen to have one of those tiny bottles of Fireball and plenty of apple cider.

I'm afraid I am being boring as usual and drinking red wine. But I rarely drink much any more so starting early and actually drinking definitively is extremely weird for me.

I love having a kid who I said "I'm doing a fest where you're supposed to get drunk and write fic" to, and he was just like "but you're not getting drunk?" and I'm like, "well, I thought I would give it a bit of a go, actually, for once," and he was all, "oh, cool..."

I rarely drink anymore either. Pretty much only when FWF is going on and then it's one, one and 1/2 drinks max! So it's definitely weird for me too. (And I really only need that many to get drunk nowadays. Such a lightweight lol)

I actually don't drink much myself--for FWF and roughly twice a month with my neighbors but that means sometimes it's 3 times in a month and other times it's not for two months. LOL

It's odd having older kids who are adult (or very nearly). I've mentioned to C how FWF works and I think I told her the last time we did it. P is more of my philosopher and this is far too common for him. ROFL

Okay y’all— I had a mimosa for brunch a bit ago and fell asleep right away (same happened after one beer last night). Apparently I haven’t been sleeping enough, or well, or something.

This afternoon, the priority is paying attention to Aaron Judge’s at bats. So far he’s been hit by a pitch and walked. I’ll drink more after the game and maybe after a more significant nap. I’ve got my ginger ale and bourbon on hand, though.

And I’m excited by the prompts!

Like alcoholic cider? Though in Britain all cider is alcoholic afaik. So references to it in american kids cartoons were a surprise.

No, this is essentially juice. (I know there's some explanation of the difference between cider and juice but I can't be bothered to search for it now. ROFL) We'd say hard cider if we meant it was alcoholic.

Funny enough, but I just learned that we say "soft drinks" for Coke and the like because they aren't hard (alcoholic).
