Title: Six Prompts in Search of an Author

Characters; Fandom: Kingsley Shacklebolt, Glacius, Mulled Wine, Ice Skating, Mittens, and “Is it spring yet?”; Harry Potter Fandom (meta)
Prompts used: Kingsley Shacklebolt, Glacius, Mulled Wine, Ice Skating, Mittens, and “Is it spring yet?” (I used every prompt -- I used every prompt TWICE.)
Summary: Six prompts take the stage to say something about JK Rowling.
Rating: General audiences.
Warnings: May be offensive to JK Rowling devotees.

Author's Notes : With apologies to Luigi Pirandello, who wrote the stage-play “Six Characters in Search of an Author”.

The curtain rises and the stage-lights come on as Kingsley Shacklebolt, Glacius, Mulled Wine, Ice Skating, Mittens, and “Is it spring yet?” make their stage entrance.
Kingsley Shacklebolt: I am gratified that JK Rowling gave me a “kingly” first name, and I know that Shacklebolt is an actual English name that shows up in census records, but I also know that many Harry Potter fans think that it was racist of JK Rowling to give such a name to a Black man, considering what a shacklebolt actually is.
Glacius: Chill, man. Not that you don’t have a point, but if you search through the HP canon you’ll find more things that fans have called out as racist in JK’s writing. You haven’t been singled out. There’s the whole Mudbloods, Halfbloods, and Purebloods thing.
Mulled Wine: Yes, Kingsley, relax. Have some fruit of the vine and mellow out about JK.
Ice Skating: You’re skating on thin ice when you criticize JK. While there are some fans who are critical of her, there’s also a legion of the devoted who won’t take kindly to your insinuations.
Mittens: I can see where there could be a lot of “on the one hand, but on the other hand” in this discussion about JK.
“Is it spring yet?”: And has anyone done a translation from Middle English to contemporary English of that winter poem at https://firewhiskeyfic.dreamwidth.org/84768.html. (Why yes, the author of this fic did so earlier while sober.)
As the six prompts exit the stage, the stage-lights dim and then go out. The curtain goes down.

This fic should win a SURPRISINGLY DEEP AND NUANCED THOUGHTS WHILE DRUNK award!
Or possibly the FACEPALM OH DEAR DOG THE PUNS WHILE DRUNK award! (I have seen so many "on the one hand, but on the other hand" discussions about JKR that I read right through that before realizing that the person speaking was MITTENS, aaargh!)
BTW, I would think of using Shacklebolt for a black character as an in-your-face haha, look what my ancestors overcame kind of usage - like the reclamation of "queer" in our lifetimes and the more recent tiny beginnings of reclaiming "c**t." But that's my reading--it may not have been JKR's intent.
