Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one. We try to have a few prompts each round that are not HP-specific.

As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going. Please do not discuss your fic/art. You can discuss ideas, drinks, how wasted you are, your favorite actors or musicians, the state of the world (a nice, safe topic LOL), or whatever floats your boat. Just don't discuss your fic/art. This is an anonymous fest until after the reveal, and we don't want hints being given as to what you're writing about. :)

And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but though we're getting more diversity, we're still fairly HP-focused. Anything goes!

Yes, those are frequently asked and reasonably asked questions. When I was in my mid-50s and knew that due South was both my primary fandom and my forever fandom is when I knew I could chose tattoos that I would always love and that would always be meaningful to me.

You are such a wonderful artist. If you ever did really want a tattoo, I don't see how you could go wrong with supplying the art for it from your own artwork.

I'm honestly kind of fond of those deliberately bad tattoes, like when people get a tattoo of a crayon drawing their kid made. But then I also like the super expensive ones by sought-after tattoo artists that just look magical. Yet I don't think those styles mix well.

I have no kids and didn't even know that a tattoo of one's kid's crayon drawing was a thing. I have the sought-after-artist type of tattoos (in two cases I even had tattoos done outside the U.S. because the tattooist I wanted at that time was in England).

Yes, yes, google "tattoos of kids drawings". They are adorable. So adorable. So bad but so adorable. I love them.

But, yes, sought-after-artist is the way to go. There's a huge difference between "deliberately bad for the kitch factor" and actually mediocre and I don't understand why people get mediocre tattoos. Mind you, I'm cheap and drunk and make bad decisions and if someone offered me a cheap tattoo at this very moment, I'd rpobably be like, "Ink me up! I want a happy frog that looks like it was drawn by a six-year-old! Or a convincingly realistic trompe l'oeil patch style frog. Can you do that cheap? The bad crayon drawing is cheaper? Cool. Let's rock!"

Maybe it's because I seem to have no parental instincts but when I googled the "tattoos of kids drawings" as you suggested, they made me feel kind of cringey. I'm not saying they aren't adorable -- they are -- but the concept of kid art as a permanent tattoo made me cringe. Well, as I said, failure to have parental instincts may be a part of my reaction.

Going offline now for a while to watch a movie with spouse. Back way later tonight or way earlier tomorrow to continue drinking and writing drunk!fic.

Okay. But the line drawing of a dog with the word "god" above was genius. Like, that's the shit that absolutely needs to be preserved

I think "budrflai" might be my favorite. Except for the color choice, which has ketchup-and-mustard connotations that make it look a bit like a weird hot dog, but I still 100% support kids who make valid phonetic mispellings because, yes, "budrflai" is a totally valid way to write those sounds.

Seriously. Google "patch tattoos" and that's my favorite tattoo this week but just a month ago, I thought the coolest thing ever were those tattoos that made it look like you were an android with mechanical gears in your arms. I cannot be trusted to make permanent decisions.

yeah... even drunk, the patch tattoos aren't my style

But I don't even dye my hair/have piercings, so tattoos are not something one should ask my opinon about
