sdk: two wine glasses clinking together (gen - wine glass clink)

Does it hurt terribly, Draco?*

Welcome to the Spring Fling edition of [community profile] firewhiskeyfic! We, your Mods - [personal profile] sdk and [personal profile] torino10154, are so glad you could make it. We love everyone tonight. Feel free to friend us on DW. We promise not to stalk you... much. :D

Your challenges for this month are:

Pansy Parkinson

April Showers

Greenhouse 3

Wolfsbane

Under the Stars

Bird's Nest

Quick clarification for newbies: you don't have to use all the prompts--though that does make for a fun fic!--but since one of the categories for voting is "Best Use of Prompt" we do recommend using at least one. From now on, we will try to have 2-3 prompts each round that are not HP-specific.

As you know, this is the Official Discussion Post. If you feel like chatting, and we hope you do, pop in here and let us know how it's going. Please do not discuss your fic/art. You can discuss ideas, drinks, how wasted you are, your favorite Hogwarts classes, your love/hate relationship with the change of the season, plans you may have been putting off for the last 2+ years, or whatever floats your boat. Just don't discuss your fic/art. This is an anonymous fest until after the reveal, and we don't want hints being given as to what you're writing about. :)

And just so we're clear, you don't have to write pr0n, though it definitely makes for interesting reading when characters change right in the middle of shagging because you're too drunk to remember who you're writing about. ;) You can write for any fandom (including original), but keep in mind the majority of our players are HP people. Anything goes!

Once you are semi-conscious, send your UNBETA'D UNCORRECTED fic to this email: fwfdrunkmods@gmail.com Trust me, we can tell if you've messed with it, so don't do it, okay?

You will receive an email from us confirming that we got it. If you don't get an email, we didn't get it. Your fics/art will be due by midnight on Sunday, April 24th. Voting will begin on April 25th and last until Friday, April 29th.

HERE IS THE HEADER! You can put this in the email body or the fic body. Whatever!

(please fill this out to the best of your ability. If you're unable, we will try to complete it for you)

In order to make things easiest on your poor, likely hungover mods, please put your DW username and (if you can manage) the title of your fic/art into your subject line or at least somewhere in the body of the email. Thank you!

Shelly is getting us started with a nice bottle of Prosecco and Torino is chatting for a bit but not drinking until later as she's double-booked herself. Hooray! How about you folks? What's the drink that's got you through the last year or the one you look forward to having the next time you're out with family or friends?

Let's get our drunk on!

*Yes, this is the only inoffensive Pansy Parkinson quote we could find. Possibly why we've both embraced fanon Pansy!

I was determined to participate tonight, but it's been a long day.
First selling books at a reception. My boss had ordered 30 of the new books and 10 of the author's previous book, thinking it would be more than enough.
When the dust settled 3 hours later, I'd sold all 30, the 3 we had in stock at work, at least 10 of the author's own stock and 5 of the previous book.
Then there was a board meeting at my housing cooperative (I'm the chairman).

I've had my first rum & coke, and am listening to whatever psychobilly Spotify is throwing at me. Warmed up by reading a Wout van Aert/Mathieu van der Poel-fic and discussing another cyclist's muscle tone with a friend on Messenger.
This night (it's already half past 11 in the evening here) is going to be interesting!

Thank you. :) Just put a tonic and a Crabbie's in the fridge while I was out for a refill. For the moment I'm mulling over the prompts, but can't guarantee I'll end up writing anything.

Whether or not you write anything this time, enjoy the drinks and the company here!

I actually managed to write something, but I'm now so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, so I better slink off to bed. It was fun, though!

Ah, nothing like planning ahead to make the day go smoothly!

I think you've earned that drink and then some.

Yes, it's been a while since a Friday night drink felt as well-earned as this one! To be fair to my boss, the last two times we were selling books at similar events we ended up with too many unsold books, so I can't fault him to be a bit conservative this time.
Who would've thought the local vicar was a bigger draw than a footballer (soccer player) who'd played in big, international clubs!

Local vicars are always a draw because on the one hand, people tend to have a soft spot for them particularly if they're a bit eccentric and on the other hand in case they mess up badly and suddenly yell 'fuck it all!' in the middle of the hall.

This is a hip young vicar, haha. Who's already been in this parish for 16 years, apparently. So probably not that "young" any more, but hip enough to have written a book with an openly gay author (you know, the kind of book that consists of their correspondence with each other about different topics).

I told the author I'd thought about making a

I told the author I'd thought about making a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_Manara"Milo Manara</a>-pastiche, where it's young man getting into all kinds of sexual/erotic situations as opposed to a young woman. Not surprisingly he approved of that idea. ;)

Well, it is an EXCELLENT idea!

Thanks :) I'm not really in the same league as Manara, art-wise, but it could certainly be fun to try.
