Could it be that you kept saying "sorry" because you are part Canadian? (I don't know that you ARE, but there is a thing about Canadians being so polite they say "sorry" all the time -- I even have a t-shirt that's decorated with a big Canadian maple leaf and the word "sorry" on the maple leaf.)
