ON a more serious note, I really liked the way you developed their characters in this. Harry, still feeling vaguely guilty over their breakup, had found himself volunteering just to keep the awkward silence from stretching on any longer than it already had just seemed so true to me, such a very Awkward!butkindhearted!harry thing to do.

And this: I don’t know,” Harry said to him “Didn’t you already have an owl?”

“I did” Malfoy said. “he died.”

“Er,” Harry said. He felt sort of as thought he ought to apologize, but Malfoy didn’t seem terribly broken up about his dead owl. Mostly he just seemed inconvenienced and kind of annoyed about it.

“He was very old,” MAlfoy said dismissively.

“Oh,” said Harry, because he didn’t know what else to say.

That was such a good callback to Hedwig's death. And a great bit of Malfoy; hard to tell if he's just putting on the snarky indifference or if it's real for him, and I loved that.

Great blend ridiculous drunken smut and excellent character development!
